History
The history of Poland go back to the Early Middle Ages. In 966 A.D. Duke Miszko I of the Piast dynasty adopted Western Christianity. Poland had many kings, and the borderlines have changed many times from the beginning until the 17th century. In 1795 Poland was attacked by 3 other countries witch were the Russian Empire, the Kingdom of Prussian, and the Austrian Habsburg Monarchy. It was divided between the 3 countries and was not existing on the map for 123 years. In 1918 after the first war Poland got the independence and was called the Second Polish Republic. The year of 1939 was the start of World War II, began when Nazi Germany and Soviet Union attacked Poland. After the war from 1945-1989 Poland was under the Soviet Union influence - Communism. Now Poland is known as the Third Polish Republic.
